Story

Hey Guys, thank you for taking the time to visit my page.

I approached my friends at the end off last year and asked if they would like a challenge!

Once I told them what i had in mind most of them ran for the hills but four off them pulled through and agreed. 😀

This October we will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Five local boys, five different charities & one mammoth mountain.

*WE WILL BE CLIMBING MOUNT KILIMAJARO WITH A TWIST*

We have named our climb KILT-IMANJARO!!!

I'm sure you will now know what's coming 😜

My uncle Douglas Maclennan passed away in 2011 with Oesophageal cancer and I am climbing the Mountain in memory of him.

I know he would have been happy with the charity I have chosen & I am sure he would have loved the thought of me sweating up the mountain. 😁

I am not only climbing the mountain but.......... I will be climbing it in my KILT!!!!!!!

I am sure that would have raised a smile on my uncles face.  He was a very proud Scotsman.

THOSE OF YOU WHO KNOW ME WILL KNOW THAT I LIKE TO DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY AND LIKE TO PUT MY OWN STAMP ON THINGS 😎

Many years ago, during my Army days whilst based in Kenya, we were given some R&R time (time off basically). We had an opportunity to either climb Mount Kilimanjaro or go Scuba Diving in the Indian ocean and stay at a 5 star Hotel........ you can make your own minds up which option I chose. LOL 😂.  I am so happy to be getting a second chance to go back and climb the mountain and at the same time doing it for a great cause.

Climbing Kilimanjaro is a huge challenge and I would be very grateful to have your support.

Highland Hospice needs your support now more than ever. They are currently trying to raise the money needed to rebuild their inpatient unit, and this is in addition to the regular fundraising required to provide their day-to-day services.

You would struggle to find someone whose life has not been touched by cancer and the Hospice offers the very best care and support through these difficult times.

Donald x
