Donald Reid & Co 3 Peaks Challenge · 3 March 2009

Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is a local charity that provides specialist care and vital support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Berkshire, South Bucks and surrounding counties.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Donald Reid & Co fundraising page;

Who

The Alexander Devine Children’s Cancer Trust was set up in memory of Alexander who in November 2001 at just 4 years old was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour.  He endured operations, treatments and chemotherapy in his four year fight against cancer with exceptional courage and bravery.

The purpose of the trust is to build and fund a Children’s Hospice service in theBerkshire area. It will aim to provide a home from home environment providing respite and quality time for the whole family, palliative care, 24 hour emergency care, advice and bereavement for the family.

Why

Donald Reid & Co has chosen this charity because, unbelievably for the size of the Royal County of Berkshire, there are no children's hospices at all.  Your help and encouragement would mean a huge amount to us but it means even more to the Alexander Devine Children's Cancer Trust.  If you get the opportunity please also have a look at their website http://www.adcct.com/

How

Donald Reid & Co will be raising money by putting in a team of walkers to take on the 3 peaks challenge of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours (or as close to 24 hours as we can manage!).  We will underake the challenge on the 9th May 2009.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Alexander Devine Children's Cancer Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
