Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
I am taking part in The Great Wall of China Trek in April 2013 in aid of The Cancer Treatment and Research Trust.
This is a charity close to my heart. I myself have had 2 close shaves with this disease, but i have been lucky. Some of my family and close friends have also been affected by this disease, some are still fighting cancer, and unfortunately some had too much of a battle on their hands and this cruel disease claimed their lives.
The CTRT was founded in 1985, its main role is to research into why and how cancers develop, but it also tries new treatments to help prevent this disease from taking another life. In recent years progress has been made in finding effective cancer treatments, and more lives are being saved, however, the number of cancer patients is increasing given that people are living longer and some cancers develop with age.
My mission is to raise a minimum of £4000.00 for The Cancer Treatment and Research Trust, this will enable consultants at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre to continue to turning research ideas into new life saving treatments.
I have many fundraising events planned to help me raise the much needed funds for CTRT and i have been very lucky that people/organisations have offered their support with events. Every single penny counts and will go towards a charity that im sure has affected all of our lives in one way or another, so please dig deep into your pockets and donate, even if its £1.00, that £1.00 will go towards the research and treatment of someone you may know who has this disease.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please support me in following my journey in trying to help make a difference to a disease that's claiming far too many lives.
Thank you
With Love
