Story
3 years ago, I read a story about a little girl named Charlotte Avenall who killed herself with a curtain cord. She had been left in utter squalor for 16 hours a day. She was not loved. Her toys, broken and covered in faeces, were her only friends.
I vowed to make a difference to children like Charlotte. At the time, I had no idea how I would do this. Roll on 3 years and I have discovered (and written a book about) an understanding that would have saved Charlotte.
We are feeling our thinking, always, No exception. Life happens to us, but the way we deal with it happens ONLY from the inside out. Which means that no one 'makes' us happy or sad. No one is at 'fault' for our feelings, no matter how much it looks like they are.
Charlotte's parents would have been able to see (had they known this), that it wasn't Charlotte who was causing their own unhappiness, and the reason they took it out on her. It was not her 'fault' that they decided not to love her. Had they known this simple fact, things may have been different.
There are parents all over the country who are still abusing their own children, taking out their pain and frustration on them and it is simply not necessary. I aim to take this understanding to the British public and help them see this simple misunderstanding, all in aid of the NSPCC. Happiness ONLY comes from the inside-out!
10% of all profits from the book go to the NSPCC and we are collecting donations throughout the tour, along the route.
