Cuba Cycle Ride · 22 August 2008

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

I am joining a Cuba cycling challenge in March 2009, and my Nile cycling buddy Dave Shuttleworth will be joining me. We will be cycling some 250 miles in 5 days to the west of Havana, where there is a mountain range, some off-road bits, and camping on route, all which will add to the challenge.

I am raising funds for the Alzheimer's Society - you can find out more at their website www.alzheimers.org.uk. I have participated in 2 previous Alzheimer's Society cycle challenges; Nile Challenge in 2007 which I raised around £2600, and the whole ride raised over £165,000; Vietnam to Cambodia Challenge in 2008 which I raised
around £3000, and the total ride around £95,000.

You can sponsor me via this web page. Please note that all of the money  raised goes to the Alzheimer's Society, that is I will pay for all of my travel and trip costs.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thanks, Doug.
