Story
My name is Will Millard and I am aiming to make a first packraft descent of a 100 mile section of the Mano and Moro Rivers, right from the point they form the Sierra Leone – Liberia border, through the Gola forest, and down into the Atlantic.
I want to raise money for the charity Street Child of Sierra Leone who help some of the 50,000 children in Sierra Leone who are forced to rely on the street to survive - They do some absolutely fantastic work, reuniting children with their families lost through war, investing in community support, employing local social workers and arranging remedial school courses to ensure children in their care are fully prepared for a return to school. You can find out more about Street Child here: http://www.street-child.co.uk/
My expedition is very kindly supported by the Royal Geographical Society’s ‘Journey of a Lifetime’ grant (www.rgs.org/journeyofalifetime). If you want to follow the descent then please join the Facebook group 'Downstream Chimp' by clicking and liking here or follow the blog here.
Thank you all so much for your support it will make a massive difference to the charity and my moral!
