Story
Many thanks for your support and donations to CLIC Sargent (the UK's leading children's cancer charity).
Overall, we smashed the fundraising target. The total raised was £3,321.20 (with £2,349.00 donated online, £415.43 donated offline and £556.77 tax reclaimed).
Highlights from the Flora London Marathon (Sunday 22nd April 2007) included:
-Seeing London bask in the unseasonably hot weather and bring many people on the streets to cheer, encourage, give out oranges and jelly babies!
-Seeing the thousands of runners raising money for their charities and running in respect of loved ones who had passed away.
-Meeting Darth Vader, SpongeBob, Wonder Woman, Superman, Super Woman, Cinderella and Fred Flintstone. Respect to them for completing the course, in costume, for charity.
-Managing to sprint to the finish line with – and beat – Mark Bright (ex Premiership footballer, Match of the Day pundit and scorer of the 'first goal' at the new Wembley!).
Many thanks to:
-All who sponsored me and sent messages of good luck.
-All who came out on the day and saw me run, walk, skip and sprint!
-Living SE23, The Palace and Living South for the coverage and support.
-CLIC Sargent for allowing me to run for them and providing fantastic support– especially at miles 22 and 25 (and a great reception)!
I will be doing more challenges and marathons in the future for charity! Would anyone like to join me for the
New York marathon? Many thanks!
Dowshan Humzah
