Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am actually quite pleased that I have managed a full decade now without cutting my hair even once! For the last eight years I have been growing dreadlocks and now feel that I have gotten to a point in my life and career where it doesn't matter that much to me anymore to have them. I'll be cutting them off over the weeknd of the 20th-21st of Feb 2010.

Over the last eight years there have been people who loved my dreads, people who hated my dreads, some have told me that I shouldn't even be allowed dreads, some that have said it would affect my career and some that have said I would never be taken seriously with them. Well now's my time to be taken seriously regardless.

Although cutting off my mane represents a seriously big change for me I am doing it in aid of a charity who do amazing work so it will be well worth it for me if I can raise some much needed more for them.

As someone with a diagnosed OCD sufferer in my family I have seen how debilitating the disease can be and how deeply misunderstood this and other mental illnesses are.

Please give what you can, as:

a) i'm pretty scared of cutting off 2 feet of rasta dreads

b) its taken me 10 years to get them this length

c) the charity does wonderful work and need all the funding it can get, and

d) you want me to look nice and tidy dont you??!?!?!?!!??

Thank you very much.

Simon Dobson

peace and stuff x
