Members of the Dreams and Wishes team have revealed plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, all in aid of raising money.
Charity trustee Sian Kosinski, charity ambassador and Cardiff City player Mark Hudson and Cardiff City physiotherapist Adam Rattenberry have all signed up to climb the famous mountain with the goal of raising thousands of pounds for the Dreams and Wishes children.
Following months of deciding what the next big fundraising idea would be, plans are now well underway to ensure that the team will be reaching the summit, which is over 19,000 feet above sea level, in June 2014.
Mark, is excited after discussing the plans with the team: ‘It is a great opportunity for me to be part of the group that is attempting to climb Kilimanjaro.
It’s going to be challenging but it’s an amazing chance to raise money for the charity and make sure that more and more children have their wishes fulfilled. I am extremely excited to do this and will be an amazing achievement for both myself and the team.’
It has been decided that the team will take the Lemosho route, which is one of the mountain’s newest routes and will take up to 8 days to complete, with one of the mountain’s highest success rates for climbers reaching the summit.
In order for the climb to go ahead, the team need to raise at least £10,000 each, to cover the cost of training, climbing equipment and travel, something which the charity desperately needs the help of businesses and the public.
Your help and support is vital to the charity to make sure that this trip happens and so that as much money can be raised, so if you want to get involved then please donate!
