Reading Half Marathon · 21 March 2010

Dreamflight gives children with serious illnesses or disabilities the holiday of a lifetime – from magical trips to Orlando to UK adventures that build confidence and independence. These experiences help children grow, feel celebrated, and discover their potential.

Story

Welcome to the "Dream Girls" Just Giving Page!

9 of us ladies (normally non-runners!) are running the Reading half marathon (yes...13.3miles!) to raise funds for Dreamflight!!! Please help us raise maximum funds for these deserving children and donate whatever you can.

We are desperate to raise as much as we can, but £3000 is our minimum target, which will fund one child's place on Dreamflight 2010.

Dreamflight is a registered UK charity that was established in 1986 with the aim of providing a special holiday bringing some joy and happiness to seriously ill and disabled children. It aims to give children who perhaps can't wait long enough for the medical breakthrough they need, or whose illnesses and treatments have bought pain and disruption to their lives, the holiday of a lifetime in Florida. They encounter all the thrills and excitement of the theme parks they may never otherwise get to experience.

It is a huge undertaking, chartering a 747 with British Airways and taking 192 sick and disabled children and 96 volunteer medical staff, cabin crew and non-medical helpers.

In excess of £650,000 needs to be raised annually for this incredible life changing trip.

We are a group well worth sponsoring! The effort towards this event is immense.  If you wish to see the 8th wonder of the world as they cross the finishing line come and support us in Reading on 21st March 2010!

The Dream Girls are: Kelly Keating, Gillian Lloyd-Davies, Claire Nicholson, Louise Poulter, Joanne Eves, Olga Gunnarsson, Natasha Schofield, Joe Woodcraft and Julie Burton-Brown.

Thank you for supporting all of us and keeping the dream alive..... xxxxxxxxxxxx
