Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. I'm going to trek 90km in Cuba in February 2006 in order to raise £2600 for Mind The Mental Health Charity. It's going to be a five day trek with 5-7 hours hike per day, so it will be as much of a challenge to get fit enough to cope with this as to raise this cash, so please sponsor me! This site is only one of the ways in which I'm trying to raise the money, so all donations are most welcome!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Mind The Mental Health Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

~*~ HA HA VERY FUNNY MIKE!!! ~*~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ September 12th: Well it poured it down all day on Saturday, so perhaps it is unsurprising that the Car Boot Sale went down like a lead balloon. Ah, well. On the other hand, the pub crawl on Friday night was a rip-roaring success! We made £210, less £60 for the costumes, so that makes £150 in total. Much more like it! September 8th: Just got back from holiday in Turkey, where I had a wonderful time and met some fantastic people - thanks to all of you who sponsored me! I've got a pub crawl tomorrow night, and a car boot sale organised for the weekend, so we shall have to see how things go! August 24th: RECENT FUNDRAISING: Held a collection at Reford Train Station on 20th August, and raised £40, and collected in debts from The White Swan, as it was my last shift there on Sunday. As a result, the grand total has bumped upto £1650. Slow progress... August 19th: Crikey, I haven't updated here in a while! The fundraising has been pretty quiet lately, a sad fact. I held an End-Of-Term quiz at college and raised £80.00, and emptied my collection box at the White Swan to find another £50, but apart from that the fundraising process has ground to a sickening halt. I spent a day at Doncaster Dome with another BSSK stand, but only managed to get £19.78 - then again, it was a gloriously hot day, so most people were outside getting a tan! My next hope is Wadfest, a Discworld event I sadly can't attend but a lovely lady named Sylvia has volunteered to sell my teeshirts at. I have also written to Central Trains, requesting permission to do a collection at Lincoln Station. Wish me luck, and if anyone has any ideas please email me at dreamkin@hotmail.com to let me know!! June 13th: Spoke to the congregation at Emmanuel Church in Arnold yesteday, who kindly donated £25 to my funds. Several members also gave me a personal donation, so in total I raised £115! Just as well really, as I made a loss on the Coffee Morning. Still, I don't expect everything to be a rampaging success. No idea what to so next though.... June 5th: Raised £130 at the BSSK Mind, Body and Spirit Event at the Lincolnshire Showground, and also got lots of ideas for other fundraising things. The next event is a Coffee Morning at Lincoln Library on Monday 13th June. April 27th: Raised £50 at the quiz night in The Half Moon in Retford, but it was a pretty close-run thing! At least I didn't make the questions too hard this time! ALSO: If anyone would like to buy a Discworld-related teeshirt to support my fundraising, I'm making black teeshirts with a Night Watch related design on the front for £13.50/$30.00 postage included. More info at www.livejournal.com/~dreamkin. Anyone interested, email me at dreamkin@hotmail.com and let me know sizes and so on. April 10th: Spent the weekend at the Lincolnshire Showground where I had a stall at the Home and Leisure Show - and raised a grand total of £180! I bow down to the generosity of the people of Lincolnshire :) March 25th: The pub crawl was a non-starter and had to be cancelled unfortunately, but we raised £127.10 at the quiz night on the 24th! Thanks to everyone, and watch this space for further announcements :D I'M NEARLY A QUARTER OF THE WAY THERE!
