Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation. We work in over 70 countries - in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics. We are independent, neutral and impartial. We provide medical care where it's needed most.

Story

My name is Isabel and I am currently a nurse in training. I am awe-inspired by MSF [Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders/Ärzte Ohne Grenzen], but I also get frustrated at my seemingly lacking ability to help, seeing as I will first have to complete my training and then gain at least two solid years of practical experience, preferably in emergency settings, before I can volunteer to work as a nurse for them. As a seemingly never-ending student I am also often lacking in financial funds meaning I am not a particularly large donor even when I do have cash to spare. And so I started browsing their website for more information and also for ideas for helping. When I stumbled across fund-raising I knew I had found something great to do. Descriptions such as 'get creative', 'inspiring', 'any kind of project', and so forth, caught my attention instantly - my brain started tumbling from one idea to another, I grabbed pen and paper, and started brainstorming. The final result of my scrambled thoughts was: 1,500 handstands - 1€ for every handstand.
