Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·

Get Kids Going! helps disabled children take part in sport by providing specialist sports wheelchairs, sports grants and year round support. They can then compete in marathons, triathlons, tennis, athletics, skiing, rugby, basketball etc. With your help, many could become Paralympic champions and world record holders.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My story and reasons why.

In May this year I decided to enter the London marathon, my reasons are many but the main reason is to complete a life time goal!

I then decided to run for a charity as this has two effects:

1- Its for a good cause and I am helping other people less fortunate than myself.

2- Its a great motivator as I have committed to raise money for my chosen charity in return for a a place in this years marathon.

I will be raising money for a lesser known charity called Get Kids Going(http://www.getkidsgoing.com/). They help purchase equipment for disabled children and get them into sports! I felt this was a great charity to support, so I have pledged to raise over £2000!!!!

When I started back in training back in June 2010 I was over 19st!!!!. Since then I have lost nearly 4St and its still dropping off!

I have completed 2 10k races(best time 51mins 5 secs) and 1 Half Marathon(this Jan 1hr 51mins). I am traing 5-6 times a week and run between 30 -40 miles per week, and I love it!

So far I have not suffered and injury or lost the drive to carry on. I will do this but need all the support I can muster from family and friends and anyone else willing to help.

Please support me and this fantastic charity-given generously.!!!

Thanks for reading my blurb and thanks for the support!!
