After 20 liters of Lucozade, 5 kg of pasta with tomato sauce, many liters of water, 1 week of flu, 2 weeks with shin splint...oh and a few training runs, I am almost ready to tackle the 26 miles on the 26th of April. London marathon here I come!
It's a shame Paula Radcliffe has had to pull out due to injury, but it is good news for me, because I got a bit worried about the promise I made to her that I would act as her pace maker for the first 15 miles...
That gives me the chance to focus on a final push for my fundraising. I am running for BackCare -the Charity for Healthier Backs- and I am hoping to raise at least £5,000.
BackCare is the only dedicated back pain charity in the UK and aims to reduce the burden of back pain by providing information and support to people affected by back pain, sharing good practice and funding research into finding better ways of managing back pain. BackCare is a relatively small charity so I know what a difference £5,000 can make.
More information about BackCare's work can be found on www.backcare.org.uk
Your support is much appreciated and remember: if you are a UK tax payer, don't forget to tick the 'Gift Aid' box; this enables BackCare to claim back the tax on your donation.
Thank you very much for your support!
