Dont Rest Yet,  Shower-Out-Celebrate-Keel over-Sleep

We are a group of like minded individuals from various walks of life and spanning all age groups who have got together for the physical and mental stimulous of completing the National Three Peaks Challenge for a very worthy cause.  There are six forming the challenge team who intend to climb the peaks and there are three in the logistical support team who are very much an essential part of the team.

Help for Heroes is a registered charity launched on the 1st October 2007 who provide support to British troops wounded in the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.  (see link).

We did it!!!!!

After 9 months of training we finally completed the National 3 Peaks challenge in 23 Hours and 10 Minutes. It was both physically and mentally challenging but well worth it and an experience none of us will ever forget.

Other than being stuck behind bank holiday caravaners on the road travelling from Scotland after climbing Ben Nevis everything went off pretty much without an hitch. Of course there was the small fact that 2 of the team got lost for almost 2 hours on Scafell Pike but we I'm sure we wont mention that to Sharpy and Bob again. Overall the challenge was an overwhelming success and Team Dry Socks would like to thank everyone involved for the support we received.

On a personal note I would like to thank all the other members of Team Dry Socks who made the whole experience a pleasure and I could not have wished for a better team to work with.

Thanks

Darren
