Story
Hello, this year I was lucky enough to get a ballot place for the London Marathon so I am not under pressure to raise any particular amount, however as Tenovus my sponsors in 2006 and 2007 were so good to me I am raising money for them.
I am going to run the Paris Marathon on 11th April 2010 (time was 3:38.42) and the London Marathon on 25th April 2010 (time was 3:41:47) which is the third time in three years. Even if you aren't interested, hopefully the EmilyBeast was worth looking at (a Somali is a Long-Haired Abyssinian to answer the most frequently asked question I've had)
I ran the 2009 Paris Marathon in 3:42.19, fairly mediocre if I say so myself.
I ran the 2009 London Marathon in 3:44.15, keeping the mediocrity consistent.
One thing I get a bit embarrassed about is that what I do isn't really that impressive but people mistakenly believe that I think it is, in the South Wales running club community and beyond I have met so many totally unassuming people who have done and still do phenomenal feats of speed and endurance that I couldn't even do for a mile. The other thing I feel strongly about is that the "headline events" aren't where real running takes place, its the journey to get to the start line relatively uninjured that counts.
