London Duathlon 2010 · 12 September 2010

Matthew's Friends provide information and support for children and adults using Ketogenic Dietary Therapies for epilepsy, Glut1DS, and other neurological disorders.

Story

The 2010 London Duathlon in aid of "Mathews Friends", because they are Hadleys friends.

Mathews friends is a small charity who directly fund a member of staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

They specialise in the promotion and development of a cutting edge treatment for severe and drug resistant Epilepsy which saves childrens lives and prevents brain damage. They also act a advisors and offer support and guidance to the childrens families.

They have recently aquired the use of facilities at a purpose built £6,000,000 centre for children with neurological problems and are working in conjunction with Great Ormond Street Hospital to reduce the waiting lists and allow more sick children to be treated.

I have seen first hand the work they do and the difference they can make to children and their families with no where else to turn. They helped my nephew Hadley, and fund the member of staff at Great Ormond Street who treats him.

Without them he wouldn't be at home today. So I am competing in the London Duathlon in September to raise money for them, so they can help more children like him.

If we raise the £1000 I will wear pink lycra during the race too, thats got to be worth a few quid hasn't it?
