Hi there! Many thanks for coming to look at my JustGiving fundraising page for the Dukes of NY Charity Walk 2013. In case you don't know what this is all about...

My sister was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in 2011. With immediate surgery and treatment, she survived this sudden and shocking ordeal. I was stunned when I heard the news... This only happens to "other" people.

Little did I know there were so many "others". And in trying to learn and understand more about this illness, I came across www.bowelcanceruk.org.uk 

Any questions I had in my mind were answered right away, with the wealth of info on their site. I also learnt of the support they offer sufferers, helping direct them to the best care and treatment in their local areas. And also the efforts made in awareness for early diagnosis.

Myself (Will Hessey) and my good friend Philip Bradbrook are a Suffolk based band called "The Dukes of New York". www.facebook.com/dukesofnewyork  In order to raise funds and awareness for BowelCancerUK, we are going to walk the Sandlings Walk. A 60 mile trek from Ipswich to Southwold, over three days starting on 30th March 2013, camping overnight along our route.

We also plan to help support this main event with other smaller events and fundraising inicatives, which will be added to this page as we go.
