Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
The Rotary Club of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane set out to climb the 17 Munros within Stirling District in a 24 hours period, starting at 2pm on 16 June. A total of 8 climbers in 4 teams were piped off from the Westlands Hotel in Dunblane after a bacon roll and tea or coffee to set us off .
The 4 teams climbed 10 Munros on Tuesday in glorious sunshine and teriffic views. Wednesday, however started very wet with high winds on the summits making for a high wind chill factor. The rain was relentless all morning, so the teams concentrated on getting to the summits of the remaining 7 Munros and getting back to the Westlands Hotel for a well earned hot drink.
Thanks to all who supported our efforts, especially Bob Watson for providing transport, and to all who turned up to see us off and all who have donated. We have raised in excess of £1000 so far including local donations, but please keep the support coming in.
