Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Karl MacIver. I live in Rhoose with my fiancee Sam and my daughter who is almost 3. I would like you to donate some money today. Heres why.
My Grandfather Duncan passed away in Marie Curie cancer care hospice in Penarth (known to locals as Holm Towers). During his time at this Hospice he was looked after so well by all the staff thier. Not only did they look after him and give him dignity during his final days, they also looked after and supported my nan and other members of the family who struggled as this tragic even unfolded.
My thank you to Marie curie, and my homage to my grandfather is to cycle from Marie Curie cancer care hospice in Penarth to the Ukraine. It is a journey that will see me cover 3000 miles in 30 days. In the process I want to raise as much money as I can for Marie Curie and also rasie as much awareness about the charity as possible.
1 in 3 of us will end up with cancer. Although many cancers if caught early can be cured there are still many people dying from it every year. For these unlucky people the final weeks can be excruciatingly painful. it is horrible to think of it this way but you or a loved one may need support during your final days. Without donations charities such as Marie Curie would not survive. Leaving people with terminal illness to die in undignified conditions.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you
Karl MacIver (fat boy)
