What's Happening?

This is the second year of the Tour De Plan which is run by the company I work for, DAZN. Last year it was Leeds to Paris and this year it will be a mammoth trip from Paris to Madrid. 

I'm not the only nut bag who's signed up to do this though, I will also have around 15 colleagues on bikes with me and we will be well looked after by another 4  colleagues who will be driving 2 support vehicles for us. 

The ride is a whopping 1500km's which will be completed over 9 days, it breaks down like so:

There are some scarily big numbers in there with no rest day, so it's fair to say I'm a little nervous about what awaits me out there but it's a fundraising exercise and the challenge I face should befit that of the people I am trying to raise money for. 

This year we are riding to raise money and awareness on behalf of Plan International UK as they help to create communities in Brazil for young girls that are free from violence, create and support equal opportunity and push to get make education for young girls as readily available as possible. 

Why is this important? 

Brazil is beset by social and economic inequalities and what opportunities are available are usually offered to boys with most girls facing pregnancy, poverty and violence from an early age. Plan International aims to redress that and we would like to support them in doing that. . 

Each rider is aiming to raise £1000 and the DAZN group is supporting us by letting us have the time off, supplying support vehicles & paying for hotels and transfers. 

It's a huge task for a fantastic charity, believe me I am going to suffer through this so any support you can lend to us will be greatly appreciated!!
