Well I did it. The race organisation, support and conditions were fantastic. The temperature was about 16 degrees and the sky was blue. The BP Castellon refinery team made us very welcome.

The hip flexor injury didn't give me too much trouble and I had a fairly straightforward run until the last couple of miles, which were agony. I was doing a lot of weaving down the final straight and was bent double - but I made it. My time was 3:48:14. So I was very happy.

Thank you to everyone who donated on this page. We have raised over £1,700 and with BP's matched giving, the total will be more than £3,500 for Leonard Cheshire Disability.
