Thank you for making it this far – I know you get relentless requests of this kind throughout the year.<span style="font-size: 6.5pt; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; color: black;">

There are so many things going awry in this world that it's difficult to know which efforts to support and which to push aside. I hope that, whilst the charity I am supporting doesn’t claim to be putting an end to African famine, you’ll see that your support can make a serious difference to many children in need.

A couple of months ago I (alongside a number of colleagues from work) perhaps foolishly volunteered for the National 3 Peak Challenge – a hike across the highest peaks in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon). The plan is to complete the hike (and the driving in between) within 24 hours. I’m really looking forward to it, but the aching knees and lactic acid would be all the more bearable if I knew you were behind me –20th/21st August isn’t far away!

The hike is in aid of The Children with Special Needs Foundation, based in the local vicinity of P&G, which raises funds for disadvantaged children: “Our aim is to raise funds to support individuals, groups and schools in their requests for equipment, holidays and tuition and to provide essential care for children with special needs in the local area. This also includes assisting very talented children who are finding it difficult to reach their true potential without support.”

See http://www.childrenwithspecialneeds.co.uk/ for further details – your support really can make a difference to this small charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so much - I really appreciate every dime.
