We support people to help rebuild lives after stroke.

Story

Sheffield Half Marathon - 12th May 2013

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Earlier this year my mum (Phyllis Slater) suffered an Ischemic Stroke which had occurred as a result of an obstruction within a blood vessel supplying blood to the brain.

After a tough few weeks, she is now out of any danger and has started the long road of rehabilitation and recovery.  At the time of writing (5th April 2013) she is having daily rehabilitation as she is unable to talk and walk and is paralysed down the right hand side of her body.

The Stroke Association are a charity who rely on support from the public to change the lives of people affected by strokes and reduce the number of people who are struck down by this devastating disease.

The Stroke Association believe in life after strokes and support stroke survivors to make the best recovery they can.

They also fund research into developing new treatments and ways of preventing strokes.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
