Dunn and Waters go Coast to Coast · 17 June 2008

The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation has two aims, the first to promote independent worldwide research into all aspects of prostate cancer; and the second to spread the crucial knowledge gathered from that research as far afield as possible, via an internationally recognised forum, attended by the world’s top prostate cancer experts. The Prostate Cancer Research Foundation is also the home of the Bob Monkhouse ‘Give a few bob’ campaign www.giveafewbob.org.

Story

Hello!

On July 17th the two of us will be dropped off on the west coast of England to embark upon a long walk home. En route, we will climb the three tallest mountains in England before walking approx. 150 miles back to Nunthorpe for a well earned rest (and beer). Ignoring the mountains, the walk should take 15 days, however, due to one of the team having work responsibilities we're going to do 15 days walking in 4 days.

As you may or may not know, Jamie's father has been recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and so our motivation is to help raise awareness and money for prostate cancer research. As an idea as to how serious it is, prostate cancer hits over 35,000 men a year and that figure is rising.

We would greatly appreciate any donation, but we encourage everyone to dig deep and give as much money as possible.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Prostate Cancer Research Foundation gets your money faster andJustgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

I would like to end by saying that although i say that we will walk 150 miles, this is as the crow flies. This does not account for Matthew Waters' appalling navigation skills and the inevitable 275 mile detour that we will encounter. Therefore i would not donate by the mile as you could end up homeless with a frighteningly large debt.

So please please please give as much money as possible. Oh and when you donate you'll get a thank you email with a humorous joke attached.

Thank you.
