Story

The RNIB 400 ft abseil challenge!

On Saturday October 8th, I will be abseiling 400 ft down one of London's most recognisable landmarks: the Centre Point building on the corner off Oxford Circus and Charring Cross Road.

I'm doing this daft stint to raise funds for the Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB). Every day, another 100 people in Britain start to lose their sight & there are over 2 million people in Britain with sight difficulties. The RNIB help these people, not only with Braille, talking books and IT training, but with imaginative and practical solutions to everyday challenges.

How you can help: You can help me to help the RNIB by sponsoring me in this act of daftness. If you'd like to sponsor me, please click the "Donate now ->" button above. Please give generously; your sponsorship really does make a difference. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RNIB will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, the RNIB can reclaim an extra 28% from the government in tax ("Gift Aid"). £20 provides information and support on employment issues to a blind or partially sighted person. £50 helps supply a blind or partially sighted person with Talking Books for one year. £100 could help buy a special toy to encourage a child to use their residual sight. You can find out more information about the valuable work the RNIB are doing by visiting www.rnib.org.uk Feel free to send a link to this page to your friends, family and colleagues. Many thanks, - Dy
