Give a little 'eggstra' this Easter!, 21 March 2006

Story

Do you ever look at the extravagant, oversized box that your Easter Egg arrived in and think it's just a little bit over the top?  Have you ever felt guilty about eating the whole thing in one sitting?  Do you wish for an alternative?

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)* at the Royal London Hospital is calling on you to do something different this Easter.  Instead of buying an Easter Egg for a friend (or yourself!), we are appealing to you to donate the cost of an Egg to our Appeal.  In return you can leave an Easter message to your friends, family or loved one for all to see!

There are many advantages to doing this.  For instance, a donation is calorie free, so you won't need to go to the gym after the Easter weekend! What's more your kind donation will help give sick and premature babies from across London and the South East the very best start in life.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: we will receive your donation faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.  That means that a donation of £1 becomes £1.28!

Many thanks for your support and a very Happy Easter.

About the charity

Barts and The London Children's Hospital cares for over 45,000 children each year. We are the general hospital for east London and the City as well as a regional and national centre of excellence for a number of paediatric medical conditions and specialist treatments. Every year, The Children's Fund raises money for medical equipment, building projects, patient and family amenities and research. Donations help us enhance the work of children's hospital and to offer excellent care to our young patients, whether newborn or teenagers. The Children's Fund is a special fund held by Barts and The London Charitable Foundation.
