Record rain fall in and around the Eastern Sri Lankan town of Batticaloa has displaced over 300,000 people and left 23 dead. Farmland has been flooded and rice fields destroyed. Thousands of those who fled the flooding are staying in camps on higher ground but even there some have been flooded. Lack of fresh water threatens disease, food supplies are short and livelihoods will be destroyed.
Government Agencies are struggling to help and the UN say that up to a million people have been affected.
After suffering so much in the last few years we believe its' time the world helped these people out.
We want you to donate to our 'Eastern Flood Appeal' by clicking on the donate button. We will distribute the monies raised through trusted local organisations that are helping on the ground to help their basic needs.
