The Esther Benjamins Trust is a children's charity working mainly in Nepal. It aims to give a childhood back to some of the world's most marginalised and forgotten children, including innocent children who once lived in prisons, street children, deaf and disabled children and children who have been trafficked into India and sold into bonded labour as circus performers.

Thanks to your support, we have been able to start our first three-month-long Child Trafficking Victims Art Workshop in Kathmandu.

We have been stunned by the huge level of goodwill that exists towards our work, and would like to place on record our sincere thanks to everyone who has so kindly made a donation.

As you can see, we are now very close to surpassing our fundraising goal of £30,000. With that in mind, any donations received beyond this total will now be allocated to a third workshop. We guarantee that the funds will be held for this purpose.

The Child Trafficking Victims Art Workshop provides training and healing for up to 40 circus returnees. The current workshop is being conducted initially by two volunteers, Alex Hunter (a professional potter - www.alex-hunter.co.uk) and Linda Beasley (mosaic artist).

Sculptor Rebecca Hawkins (www.rebeccahawkinssculpture.co.uk),  will arrive in Nepal at the end of the year to begin preparing the second Child Trafficking Victims Art Workshop which starts in January. This is for a further 60 victims.

Each circus returnee participating in the course will find therapy and acquire skills in marketable art forms that will enable them to gain employment and progress along the route to independent, happy lives.

Accommodation, materials and equipment costs total £100 per girl, per month. That's £300 for skills that can serve each victim for life.
