Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is the most efficient way to sponsor me: Iain Rennie Hospice At Home gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
The Iain Rennie nurses are a group of incredibly compassionate, professional and dedicated people who are available on a 24 hour basis to terminally ill patients in their care, enabling them to be at home in familiar surroundings and amongst their friends and family. Through personal experience, I can assure potential donors that the Iain Rennie charity makes a huge difference to patients and their families. However, only 16% of the charity's funding comes from the NHS so public donations are critical to continuing the good work.
Well, I got round the course on 8 November and, despite the conditions being much worse than 2006, managed to shave 9 minutes off my previous time which meant that I finished in 22nd place out of about 400 people who started the race and got within 5 minutes of the elusive 3hr mark for the 40 miles. If you've only just found this page or were waiting for me to race and actually earn the sponsorship(!), this page is still very much open for further contributions - every penny will make a difference so please sponsor me today!
Thanks, Ed
