Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
As you may know, I have always taken a keen interest in the preservation and diversity of the many forms of wildlife that live alongside us, and so I have taken the decision this year to run the Flora London Marathon in support of the Born Free Foundation. This amazing charity aims to support and preserve wildlife, whilst at the same time promote and raise awareness about the plight of many wild and special species all over the globe, from campaigns against the ivory trade and poaching in Africa, and the Big Cat campaign to save lions, leopards and tigers from miserable lives in tiny cages and illegal hunting, to maintaining gorilla sanctuaries and looking after orphaned polar bears in Canada.
I know that there are many others who will be running this year for many worthwhile charities and causes which are all equally deserving, but as a relatively small charity doing such fantastic work, for creatures which have no ability to speak for or protect themselves, and with often little or no acknowledgment, it really would mean a great deal if you were able to sponsor me in whatever way you may be able.
My ambition this year is to raise a minimum of £1600, and at the same time attempt to improve on my previous time of 4hrs 35 minutes, and I will be looking forward to letting you know how I get on!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Born Free Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
