Story

Hi

For those of you who don't know I am running this marathon as I lost a bet that I stupidly made during last years Fleet half marathon.

Our friends were running and we went along to support them - Mary Wigley (my friends mum) asked why I wasnt running it.  She and her family are huge West Ham supporters.  In March 2007 it really looked like they were going to be relegated short of a miracle........that miracle occured during the last match of the season when somehow they beat Manchester United and stayed up.

The bet was that should they stay up I would run next year.  I was so confident that there was no chance of this that I also agreed to run in a West Ham shirt..... I'm a Millwall fan - boy am i in for some stick from my mates!!!!!!

I am raising money for the Stephanie Marks Appeal which helps people with diabetes as my brother, his wife and several friends suffer from this condition.  The Stephanie Marks Appeal is building a centre of excellence for this local area and is such a worthy cause.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ashford And St Peter's Hospitals Charitable Fund - Stephanie Marks Appeal will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
