Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.  This will be my third London Marathon and, yet again, I will be raising funds for a chariy that is close to my heart.  For my last two Marathons I have chosen to raise funds for Cancer charities which have touched me personally and this year is no different.  This year I will be raising funds for, and awareness of, a lesser known charity, Cancer Vaccine Institute.  For further information on the work this charity are doing please take a look at www.cancervaccine.org.uk.

I managed to complete my first Marathon in 4 hours, 10 minutes and 19 seconds, my second Marathon was completed in 3 hours, 52 minutes and 10 seconds and this year I hope to improve again.

I began my training in January and it has been a tough journey through many dark, cold and wet evenings but has been going well.  I have so far acheived all my training targets.  During this time I have only suffered a minor injury to my calves which may still need some attention in the latter stages of training.  I have acheived my goals with the support of my family and my running club.

I will try and give regular training updates during these last few weeks of training so if you are interested in hearing about my suffering then please check in again!

The training is still going to plan and on Sunday i took part in the Cranleigh 21 mile race which i completed in 2 hours 52 minutes. This was a training run so i took it easy and increased the pace at around mile 15 as i felt  quite fresh and finished strongly. I was scheduled to do 20 miles in approx 3 hours so achieved my goal for the day.

I have a tuff schedule this week with a mixture of speed work, tempo sessions and steady runs culminating in a 22.5 mile run on Sunday.

I will fill you in next week on how i got on!
