Story
First of all, many thanks for visiting my Justgiving site. You're busy, probably poorer than you'd like to be, and no doubt get asked to visit 10 of these a day. So thanks for even getting here in the first place!
It's been 10 years since my last (and first) marathon, and I'm pleased to announce that training could be going much worse. So far my longest run has been 14 miles. I did it without passing out!
Why Paris? I chose the Paris marathon because I wasn't organised enough to enter the London marathon in time. I'm running 26.2 miles on 5 April to get the body back in shape after 3 kids and to raise money for my son's fantastic school.
Malachy goes to St. Stephen's Church of England Primary School - a local school of 200 kids. Deemed to require 'Special Measures' in 2001, today St. Stephen's is one of the best performing primary schools in the Borough with an outstanding report from OFSTED in 2008 and educational achievements rising every year.
St. Stephen's has made great strides, but there is still much more work to be done. The school's Parents' Association, the Friends of St. Stephen's has launched a fundraising campaign to support the school's recently launched Development Project. All donations will directly benefit the children of St. Stephen's and will help the school to invest in a range of essential projects, such as:
An upgrade of the School's ICT infrastructure including state-of-the-art computer equipment in the ICT Suite and all classrooms, multimedia teaching technology and links to teaching resources across the internet.
Classroom and playground equipment for the new Nursery including outdoor play equipment and environmentally-friendly classroom furniture.
Upgraded sound and lighting equipment to support St. Stephen's renowned drama and musical activities.
All contributions - of whatever size - will make a real difference.
For example:
- A brick for the new nursery costs £5
- A set of books for a classroom costs £20
- An upgrade for a classroom's audio equipment costs £50
- A set of tables and chairs for the nursery costs £150
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Friends of St. Stephen's School Shepherd's Bush gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
My thanks to you if you decide to sponsor me!
