Story
I am sure you have all heard of Help for Heroes by now. The aim of the charity is ultimately to build a pool and gym complex at Headley Court, the rehabilitation centre where our servicemen and women go to receive treatment and recuperate.
I and 20 others did a photo shoot last week for The Sun Newspaper and met some of the guys that will be doing the ride - the Real Heroes. They are quite literally soldiering on and will be completing the ride with incredible prosthetics attached. This is what the ride is about ensuring these guys get the recognition and treatment they deserve.
The Big Battlefield Bike Ride will leave from Portsmouth on Monday 26 May to Caen. On Tuesday 27th we start the ride via Sword Beach, Pegasus Bridge, Hornfleur, Le Havre, Dieppe, Amiens, along the River Somme, Arras to Calais. On Sunday 1st we board a ferry to Dover and then to Black Heath in London to complete the final part of the ride to the Cenotaph. A total of 549 km (plus the bits we get lost on!!).
I am hoping to raise a minimum of £2,000 for the bike ride and need all the support you can give.
Please donate whatever you can, your donation really will make a difference.
Please also forward this link to as many people as you wish.
Many thanks for your support.
