Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I'm running this marthon for two reasons, to test myself and to raise money for the Willow Foundation. The Willow Foundation was started by former Scotland and Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson and his wife Megs, to create special days for seriously ill young adults after their daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer with the aim of giving a sense of normaility  and positive activity in harder times.

Our story mirrors that. David (Liz's brother) was diagnosed with cancer of the heart around the time of our engagement. David was strong and courageous and fought against this rare form of cancer long enough to see us married- he was determined to make sure I did right by his sister! The Willow Foundation helped David, a theatre student, to realise one of his dreams, to see a west end musical and arranged a special weekend for him and his mum, Hilary. It was the attention to detail that they gave ad the thought that the charity put in, whilst we were so concerned in supporting David through his illness and treatment, that made such a difference to his family and gave us all an experience that made David and us smile in such a difficult time. This is an opportunity to help other families have their own experiences and smiles which I think can only be a good thing.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Willow Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
