The challenge mountaineering poses is as much a mental one as anything else, however it is nothing compared with what the 700,000 dementia sufferers and their families have to cope with day in day out. This is something that I have experienced firsthand as my grandmother suffers with vascular dementia (as did my great grandfather and great aunt). 

It is my hope that as I continue my mountaineering journey It will raise the profile of the Alzheimer as well as raising much needed funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
