Story

July 26th 2009 - Toughguy Nettle Warrior Challenge

After completing a couple of triathlons in late 2008 and entering a half marathon for March 2009 I looked around for my next challenge in life. After alot of contemplation I decided to sign up for the Toughguy Challenge 2009.

For those that have never heard of if, it's an 'extreme' 8 mile long assault course with 21 obstacles including crawling through mud underneath barbed wire, walking the plank, swimming underwater through muddy tunnels, running through a field of fire and avoiding electric fences! Only 2900 out of 4500 managed to finish the race last time and even the eventual winner got hypothermia!

Pre-requisites for entering are that you have to have an up-to-date tetanus injection and you have to sign a disclaimer against serious illness or injury. They also recommend that you get some sort of personal injury insurance.

The mention of me entering Toughguy has made alot of people guffaw but I'm out to prove them wrong. Please support me in my challenge. I don't want to risk my life for nothing! :-)
