We're a Christian child development charity that sees beyond poverty to the incredible potential God has placed in every child and family. Partnering with more than 8,900 local churches in 29 countries, we work to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I am happy to report that the ordeal ( sorry trip) was completed on saturday 13th September at 2000. The trip was completed  in 64 hours. We coverd in excess of 900 miles. The only two breaks in the continous journey were at Penrith when we had to stop 15 miles short of our next team at Carlisle and at Crammond Brig when that team had to get a lift over the Forth Bridge because  the weather and road conditions at 0300 were too dangerous for using the A90 .

The ride was the most gruelling trip i have undertaken and will not be repeated! The most challenging aspect of the trip was the lack of sleep. We had eight riders travelling in teams of two. After finishing your stint you had to travel 100 miles by car to your next start off point. This meant that you had approximately 7 hours to travel and eat, leaving very little if any time for sleep.I estimate that apart from dozing in the car as we travelled from stage to stage Ronnie and I had six hours sleep from thursday morning until saturday night. The trip was a challenge for our back up teams without whom we cpuld not even have attempted the ride..Thanks guys

I would like to thank everybody for being so generous in their sponsorship, your kindness was a great spur in encouraging me to continue.. particularly in the two 0300 trips on friday and saturday mornings.. THANK YOU ALL

If you are visiting the site and have not had an opportunity of sponsoring me you can still do so and any contributions would be most welcome.

Ronnie and I have chosen Compassion Uk as our charity, it is an organisation which  promotes individual sponsorship of children in third world countries, but it also has two funds; one to provide help for children affected by AIDS and the other  to provide food for the most needy of children in the areas where they have centres. Compassion uk has centres all around the developing world and is highly effective in helping the most vulnerable people in the most deprived areas.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Compassion Uk Christian Child Development gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you all again
