The British Paralympic Association has responsibility for getting Britain's top disabled athletes, in over 20 different sports, to each Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, wherever in the world they are taking place. It has to raise the money to meet all the costs this entails.

My personal message:

On 5 September 2008, the day prior to the opening of the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, Lovells is organising its third annual charity abseil off the roof of Atlantic House.  The British Paralympic Association is one of my firm's chosen charities this year.  I do think its proof that I'm becoming increasingly certifiable with age, yet overcoming my own fears and braving the descent from the twelfth floor pales into insignificance compared to the feats of our Paralympians over the following 12 days.
