Personal message:

It'll probably be a bit of shock to everyone to get this from me; but no one can be more shocked than I was when I realised what I have committed myself to.  Essentially the idea is drag my ever increasing waistline round three marathons in three different cities over the course of the next eighteen months.  Starting with the Amsterdam marathon (October 2008), then the London marathon (2009 - ballot allowing) and finishing with the Florence marathon in November 2009.

I stated training yesterday (15th April) with a gentle jog and found that the 'wall' that people talk about coming 20 miles into the marathon came about 500metres from the front door, so its already looking quite tough.

I'll be doing all this for bone cancer research, a brilliant charity supporting research into a cancer that in 90% of new cases affects teenagers.  I would appreciate any help in reaching my target, and any help in spreading word to friends, family etc who you think might be keen to help.

Thanks so much.

Eddie
