I entered the Marathon by mistake! (Stop saying that, Withnail!)
Last year I went to a benefit gig for the Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign. This put me on the mailing list and meant that just before Christmas, I got an email asking if I would like to run the London Marathon for them.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
The enormity of the task before me is now sinking in.
However, the Nicaragua Solidarity are a great organisation, helping the people in one of the poorest countries in Latin America, and I would like to run the marathon and raise lots of money for them.
If you are a UK taxpayer you can choose to give Gift Aid, which will increase your donation at no extra cost to yourself - The UK Government will pay.
Given that the NSC has spent much of its efforts trying to counter the effects of US foreign policy, perhaps taking as much tax as possible from the current UK government is a boon for World Peace!
