My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The editors of all of the leading titles in the electrical trade press have come together to raise as much money as possible for the EEIBA by taking part in a 24-hour Three Peaks Challenge. The event will take place from 8th-9th May and the team will be expected to climb Ben Nevis, Scaffell Pike and Snowdon in the space of 24 hours.

The EEIBA (the Electrical and Electronics Industries Benevolent Association) is the only charity that exists to help those in hardship and distress who work, or have worked, in the electrical and electronics industries and any connected or allied industries and sciences, including mechanical engineering. This help is also available to any dependants. Help and assistance is provided in circumstances involving all age groups, from the youngest child to the oldest pensioner, anywhere in the UK and Northern Ireland.  Since the recession began, the charity has seen record requests for assistance, but is also suffering from a drop in funding and charitable donations. That means it needs your help more than ever.

To get an idea of the work that EEIBA does, look no further than Joshua Gardner. Four years ago twelve-year-old Joshua was struck down with Transverse Myelitis, which initially left him paralysed from the neck down. He was issued with a standard NHS wheelchair which was not ideal and restricted his interaction with his peers.

So please help the EEIBA by making a donation today. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
