Story

Thank you for visiting the EGP Mongolia 2010 fundraising page.

As part of the charity Edinburgh Global Partnerships (EGP), a group of 8 volunteers are working in collaboration with the Mongolia-based charity, Children and Young Person's Protection and Development (CYPPD) in order to help run a summer camp for disadvantaged children. The camp will run for approximately 8 weeks, taking in children who have been exposed to the harsh realities of life in Ulaanbaatar, often exploited through child labour, sexual abuse and prostitution. Not only will the camp offer the children respite from their hard lives, it will also raise their awareness of the services available to them from CYPPD back in the city. During the 7 weeks, the volunteers will also run a 10 day english school for more privileged children, where the funds obtained from this can help to establish the sustainable aims of the project. For more information please follow this link:

We must raise £8530 prior to the project next June, with all the money going directly to the costs of running the camp. Most of the funds will go towards the children's food, accommodation and transport. Just £1.85 will pay for a return journey to the camp for one child.
