Story
On behalf of Education for All Morocco I have decided to challenge myself to water skiing from Arran to Dunure Harbour, a 15 mile ski.
AND ON THE 23RD SEPTEMBER I COMPLETED MY CHALLENGE. The sea was at the calmest it has been for 2 weeks and we departed Dunure at 9 am heading to the starting point off the Southern tip of Holy Isle. The journey homewards took 56 mins, on route passing a Minke Whale, Basking Sharks and Porpoise. It truelly was an amazing experience and a huge relief to achieve the challenge before heading off to Morocco on Monday 27th Sept.
Thank you so much to all my sponsors. The page remains active for a month so any further donations would be greatly appreciated.
Education for All Morocco is a charitable organisation that aim to educate girls from rural communities in the high Atlas Mountains. Very few of these girls would usually have the opportunity to further their education past primary school for two fundamental reasons, their family cannot afford to send them and a lack of faith in the lodgings provided for the girls. Education for All believe that by educating these girls you are educating the next generation as well and increasing the status of woman by giving them greater propsepcts. There are currently three houses operating in the mountains, here the girls (aged between 11 and 17) live and learn. To find out more about the charity itself go to www.educationforallmorocco.org.
From the end of September to December I will be volunteering in one of these houses, helping the girls with their English and IT skills, as well as generally with things like cooking and cleaning.
Sadly we are not able to give an exact day for the ski as it is weather depending, but we are aiming for mid September just before I leave. I will keep you all posted.
Please donate generously.
