Thank you for visiting my fundraising page
On 15th May 2009 I am taking part in 'A Walk to Remember' which is a sponsored 11km night time walk around Barrow-in-Furness, in aid of St Mary's Hospice, Ulverston.
St Mary's Hospice is an independent, charitable, voluntary body funded mainly by the generosity of the community for the community. The hospice provides specialised supportive and palliative care for people with life limiting conditions. All St Mary's care is provided free of charge, but it is not cost free. Just to maintain their current services costs around £2.2 million a year, of which they have to raise £1.8 million from their supporters.
In October 2007, my Dad spent the last week of his life at the hospice after losing his battle with cancer. I am doing the walk to remember my Dad (Gary Dodd) and thank the amazing team at St Mary's for all that they did for him and for the support and kindness that they gave to me and my family during the most difficult time of our lives. I will also be remembering my Nana during the walk who St Mary's also cared for when I was only 6.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: HOSPICE OF ST MARY OF FURNESS gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now and help me to raise money so that St Mary's can continue to carry out the wonderful work that they do.
Thank you
xxxxx
