Story
Thanks for taking the time to do this!
Throughout the course of 2007 I will be taking part in various runs, starting with the Great Edinburgh Run in May, then the Glasgow Ladies 10K, followed by the Great Scottish Run Half Marathon then the ending with the Dublin Marathon on Monday 29th October, with another few dotted in between........exhausting.......but not as bad as trying to walk 100yards with breathing difficulties!
Running the marathon will be to fulfill a personal ambition, but I also hope to raise money for the British Lung Foundation.
The reason for this being that my Dad suffered COPD, but managed to survive on only 25% capacity of one lung for many years, until he passed away a couple of years ago.
He is the bravest man I will ever know.
The only positive thing is knowing that he is now with me every minute of every day and will be with me throughout every breath of every run but especially as I stagger across the finishing line at the end of 26.2 miles in Dublin (without a guinness in sight)...
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: British Lung Foundation will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.
Please donate generously.
Many thanks for your support.
