Forth Rail Bridge Abseil · 11 October 2009

The Scottish SPCA rescue, rehabilitate, release, and rehome Scotland's animals. We educate people about the welfare of animals in our mission to eradicate animal cruelty. We investigate abuse across Scotland and bring those who abuse animals to justice. We are Scotland’s animal champions.

Story

I've been volunteering at the Cardonald SSPCA cat and dog home since the beginning of this year and decided to try to raise some funds for them as they receive no funding from the Government and rely solely on donations from the public.  They do a wonderful job helping animals which are in danger or simply because their owners can't cope with them anymore.

I have decided to do an SAS (free fall) style abseil from the Forth Rail Bridge on the 11th October, with a drop of about 165 feet.  The pack I've received says "it's an adrenaline rush for the daring and an ultimate challenge for others", I'm certain it will be petrifying so I probably come into the "ultimate challenge" section!!

I have never done anything like this before and keep asking myself if I've really entered.........but I have........so there's no going back now.

If you can spare it, please sponsor me through my justgiving page (or I have a paper sponsor form too), so when I dangle myself from a piece of (strong) rope and hang over the edge of the Forth Rail Bridge it will all seem worthwhile!!!

Thanks very much

Elaine xx
