In October 09 I will be part of a fundraising expedition to trek the Great Wall of China to raise funds for Dentaid.   I will be trekking  between  5 and 8  hours per day depending on the severity of the terrain,  I may need poles but not ropes - thank heaven!   This challenge is for a very worthy cause and the subject of dental health is very close to my heart.   At this exact moment, more people are suffering pain from untreated dental decay and oral disease  than any other global health complaint - THIS is a real pandemic!   Tens of thousands die every year in terrible pain from tooth infections and oral diseases.   Dental education and prevention of dental disease is desperately poor in underdeveloped countries while Western sugar products with their limitless advertising budgets are the principal cause of the deterioration of oral health.
