Eliza was born 13 weeks premature on the 19th of September 2008 weighing just over 1lb 6oz. She spent 3 months at the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Bath, without which she wouldn’t have survived even a day. But thanks to the dedicated care and the hard work of the staff in Bath, she was able to come home on the 15th of December. Tragically, Eliza unexpectedly died on Christmas Eve after contracting bronchial pneumonia. We are thankful that we got to spend time with her and that she got to meet her family and so many of the people who cared about her.

The NICU at Bath’s Royal United Hospital covers a massive area including Chippenham, Devizes, Trowbridge, Calne and Melksham, and provides care for babies who are born premature or those who just need a little bit of help during the first few days of their precious lives.

We would like to help future NICU parents by raising money for the new Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit and giving their babies ‘space to grow’.

The 3Peaks Challenge

On the 4th of August Amy, Matthew, Lara and Tom will be starting the 3Peaks Challenge with Tina as our driver. The 3Peaks Challenge involves climbing the highest mountains in England (Scafell Pike – 978m), Scotland (Ben Nevis – 1,344m) and Wales (Mt. Snowdon - 1,085m) all within a period of 24hours, including the 500 mile drive between the mountains.

Ladies Night

On the 8th of August there is a Ladies Night fundraiser at The Wyvern in Devizes. There will be a fashion show and different stalls from local businesses such as The Pampered Chef, Ann Summers, Avon and The Body Shop among others. Entry is £3.00 per person (over 18’s only) with a licensed bar available and nibbles provided. There is a raffle with some fabulous prizes including a meal for 2, Salon Vouchers, a pair of hand-forged wrought iron candelabras and much more. Bring your Mothers, sisters, aunties and friends for a night of fun and a few surprises!
